Artisans

Explore the faces and stories of our artisans in Italy and their passion for the special products that they produce. ❤️

Casa Amalfi | Amalfi Coast

After living in Sydney Australian for over two decades and running their own Italian fashion company, Ivan and Simonetta returned to their hometown of Naples in 2019 at the beginning of the pandemic.

It was here when they could escape to the beauty of the Amalfi Coast that the Casa Amalfi brand was imagined and through hard work and vision, was finally released.

Colori del Sole | Sicily

Colori del Sole is synonymous with quality craftsmanship. It is a synthesis of tradition, passion and color: emotions that only products handmade with dedication and ancient techniques can convey. They are ambassadors of slow production, of the artisan product, made by skilled workers, proud of their tradition and their country.

Linea Dria | Sicily

Linea Dria is a self-taught artisan and graduated in philosophy with a thesis on art within the cultural industry. Today she has a private studio where her characters, from mermaids and mystical types to sailors and warriors tell their stories on beautiful ceramics bursting with color.

Montalcino564 | Montalcino

During our very first visit to Montalcino, on a rainy day in October 2006, I first stepped foot in Massimo's store in the little piazza. And the rest is history! Massimo offers a selection of linens and merchandise that are breathtaking.

From wine bags and bread bags to kitchen linens, his skill and passion as a true artisan will allow you to bring a small piece of Tuscany into your home.

NostraVita

I first met the Parisi family only a few short years ago - and I fell in love with the magic of this special vineyard on the hill and the amazing family that owns it. Their bond to each other and to the land they tend infuses every bottle of wine, art and product they produce.

Pura Crocus | Montalcino

Known as the red heart of Montalcino, crimson saffron (orzafferano in Italian) and has been cultivated in the Val d’Orcia since the Middle Ages. There are records of saffron from Clemente Santi of Montalcino being awarded the Agricultural Exhibition prize as far back as 1857.

This red gold, as once called, is cultivated from the crocus plant.  The labor-intensive process involves handpicking the stigmas from each flower. The stigmas are then spread on trays and dried. You need 120,000 to 150,000 flowers to make 1 kilogram of saffron!

Simple Day | Reggio Emilia

We first spotted this line of colorful kitchen linens at our friend, Donatella's shop in Montalcino. She graciously introduced us to the company as we fell in love with the brightly colored linens made from beautiful soft stone-washed linen

Tessitura Toscana Telerie | Sesto Fiorentino

What started with a handshake in 1947 has continued for three generations to create beautiful Italian linens for your home. For over seventy years Tessitura Toscana Telerie has been producing superior quality linens and home textiles, with contemporary taste and great charm.

They are world-renowned for features that reflect the cultural heritage of Tuscany, where for centuries, art, craftsmanship, and poetry have been intimately connected.

Valentina D'Andrea | Montalcino

We stumbled upon Valentina D'andrea's beautiful, artisanal, hand-crafted wares through a dear Tuscan friend of ours, Judy Witts Francini. From beach towels to totes, Valentina's use of bright colors and whimsical designs are sure to dazzle.

In 1999, scenographer and illustrator Valentina D'Andrea invented "Officina di Fantadesign" a space that deals with art, fashion, design, putting more materials in dialogue within the same function.
